On January 22, 1955, Charlie was united in marriage to Verla Marie Houseright in Karnak, Illinois. She preceded him in death on October 23, 1999. Charlie was later united in marriage to Kay F. Mayberry on October 22, 2004 at the Henry County Courthouse in Paris, Tennessee. She survives.
In addition to his wife, Charlie is survived by: his children – Debbie (Larry) Hileman of Vienna, Charlene (Ron) Stricklen of Evansville, Indiana, Beverly (Ronnie) Sharp of Woodstock, Alabama, Mitchell (Lisa) Mayberry of Jackson, Missouri, and Patty Mayberry of Henderson, Nevada; grandchildren – Amy (Pat) Trovillion of Vienna, Jessica (Brad) Griepenstroh of Gentryville, Indiana, Jeremy (Angela) Hileman of Mill Creek, Charles “Charlie” (Sara) Ebersohl of Anna, Matthew (Nicole) Stricklen of Newburgh, Indiana, Lacey (Chris) Mason of Las Vegas, Nevada, Nick (Wendy) Mayberry of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Angela (Rodney) Alford of Jackson, Missouri, Jennifer York of Jackson, Missouri, Heather (Kyle) Triller of Perryville, Missouri, and Erica Hendrix of Jackson, Missouri; and 27 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Charlie was preceded in death by: a brother – Clinton Littleton and a sister – Regina Treat.
Charlie had been employed as a foreman for various road construction companies. Later, he followed in his father’s footsteps and owned and operated his own lime hauling and spreading business.
Charlie was a 50+ year member of the Masonic fraternity and Vienna Masonic Lodge # 150 A.F. & A.M.
Charlie had a love of sports, farming, fishing and spending time with his family and many friends.
A service honoring the life of Charles L. Littleton was conducted Sunday afternoon, August 1, 2021, at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. The service began at 3 PM with Masonic Rites accorded by Vienna Masonic Lodge # 150 A.F. & A.M. Immediately following the Masonic Rites a funeral service was conducted. Pastor Jay Franklin will officiated.
Burial followed in the Cypress Cemetery.
Visitation was held Sunday afternoon, August 1, 2021, at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
