Max I. Koehler, age 15 years, a resident of rural Vienna, passed away Thursday morning, November 26, 2020, at 6:49 AM at Evelyn’s House – BJC Hospice in Creve Coeur, Missouri.
Max was born December 7, 2004 in Marion, Illinois.
He is survived by: his adoptive parents – Charlie and Rita Johnson, his brother – Drew Koehler, his father – Justin Koehler, and his grandfather – Bob Koehler.
Max was a member of the Vienna High School sophomore class. He was a graduate of the Vienna Grade School, where he had been a member of the BETA Club.
Max had a passion for technology. He enjoyed working and playing on computers and gaming. Max was also a gifted debater. He enjoyed driving and was looking forward to getting his driver’s license.
Max is remembered as a loving and compassionate person. When the leap day tornado of 2012 devastated parts of Harrisburg and Saline County, Max asked his parents if he could donate the entire contents of his piggy bank to help because, as he said, “they needed it more than he did.”
A private service honoring Max Koehler was held.
