Wayne Mott

Wayne Mott, age 81 years, a resident of Vienna, passed away Monday morning, March 2, 2020 at 3:10 AM at his home.

Wayne was born on January 11, 1939 in the Brownfield community of Pope County Illinois. He was the son of Clyde Mott and Aveline (Parks) Mott.

Wayne was united in marriage to Bette Mathis on January 25, 1958 at the United Pentecostal Church in Vienna. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. Together, they shared over 56 years of marriage. She preceded him in death on December 31, 2014.

Survivors include his children- Ginger (Mark) Endrizzi and Morris Lee (Danell) Mott, both of Vienna; 4 grandchildren- Chuck (Melea) Ellingson of Milan, Minnesota, Matthew (Mandy) Endrizzi of Vienna, Lacie (Lewis) Rashid of East Lansing, Michigan and Credence Mott of Vienna; 3 great-grandchildren- Mason and Matthew Ellingson and Zelda Jane Marie Rashid; 2 sisters- Myrna Graves of Vienna and Donna Morris of Golconda; 2 brothers- Clyde Jr. (Judy) Mott of Simpson and Harold (Linda) Mott of Grantsburg; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Wayne is also survived by his beloved dog Jaxon.

Wayne was employed as a heavy equipment operator. He was a 50+ year member of the IUOE Local #318 in Marion as well as a member of the New Columbia Masonic Lodge #336.

Wayne was a jack of all trades and a hard worker. He enjoyed farming, mechanic work and loved to be able to mentor, teach and share his knowledge.

In his spare time, Wayne enjoyed riding his bicycle and walking on the bike trail, going fishing, hunting and motorcycle riding. He also liked to watch old Western movies. Wayne especially loved spending time with and making trips to see his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was very proud of them and all of their accomplishments.

Wayne was of the Baptist Faith.

A service honoring the life of Wayne Mott will be conducted on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 10AM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Wayne’s brother, Rev. Clyde Mott, Jr. will officiate.

Burial will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, March 5, 2020 from 5PM-8PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. At 7PM Masonic rites will be accorded.
