Judith Ann “Judy” Haden Preston

Judith Ann “Judy” Haden Preston, age 78 years, a resident of Vienna, Illinois, passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 16, 2019, at 5:40 PM at the Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Illinois.

Judy was born August 10, 1941 in the Stonefort community (Williamson County) Illinois.  She was the daughter of Richard Raymond and Betty Lou (Thomas) Haden.

On August 27, 1966, Judy was united in marriage to Robin Dee Preston in Spider Lake, Wisconsin.  He preceded her in death on November 29, 2006.

Judy is survived by: a son – Richard (Shanee) Preston of Harveys Lake, Pennsylvania; a daughter-in-law – Jill Preston of Lake In The Hills; 6 grandchildren – Corinne Marie Preston, Deena Rae Preston, Thomas Alton Preston, Ty Preston, Robin Preston and Michael Preston; a great granddaughter – Tawny Latchford; 2 brothers – Raymond Richard “Rick” (Julie) Haden of Clarkston, Michigan and Thomas Gene (Judy) Haden of Lapeer, Michigan; 2 aunts as well as a host of cousins, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Judy was preceded in death by: a daughter – Rhonda Rae Preston; a son – Robin Preston; and a sister – Donna Rae Haden Dunn.

Judy attended the Reynoldsburg Public School until the age of nine.  Her family moved to Madison Heights, Michigan and Judy graduated from Madison High School.  Following her graduation, Judy was employed for a time by the City of Madison Heights.  She worked for 29 years as a 100% Dimension Lay-Out inspector in the Quality Control Division of Hoffer Plastics in South Elgin, Illinois.  She retired in 2001.

Judy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Foxcroft Ward) in West Frankfort, Illinois.  Judy was an avid genealogist and a student of family history.  She was an avid reader and particularly enjoyed studying the Bible and the Book of Mormon.

A service honoring the life of Judy Preston will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, October 22, 2019, at 2 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Burial will be in the Reynoldsburg Cemetery near Tunnel Hill.

Visitation will be held Tuesday afternoon, October 22, 2019, from 12 Noon – 2 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
