Joyce Elaine Craig

Joyce Elaine Craig, age 87 years, a resident of Vienna, Illinois, passed away Monday morning, October 14, 2019, at 6:50 AM at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky.

Joyce was born June 9, 1932 in Alto Pass, Illinois.  She was the youngest of five children born to Curtis and Grace (Williams) Caraker.

On April 17, 1947, Joyce was united in marriage to Marcus Craig in Mountain View, Arkansas.  He preceded her in death on August 26, 1988.

Joyce is survived by: her children – Dianna Samples and Judy Hastings both of Marion, Ted Craig of Vienna, Randy Craig of Waxahachie, Texas, Pam Runge of Goreville, and Theresa Morse of Stonefort; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; a sister – Violet Branscum of Vienna; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Joyce was preceded in death by: 2 sons – Curtis Craig and Jimmy D. Craig; a sister – Maxine Littlepage; and 2 brothers – Delbert “Pete” Caraker and Chris “Junior” Caraker.

Joyce was a homemaker.  She was of the Christian faith.  Joyce enjoyed making handcrafted embroidery items and working crossword puzzles. 

A service honoring the life of Joyce Elaine Craig will be held Friday, October 18, 2019, at 11 AM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.  Pastor Kevin McNeely will officiate.  Burial will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery.

Visitation will be conducted Thursday evening, October 17, 2019, from 5 PM – 8 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
