Angela Lynn Phelps Pender, age 57 years, a resident of Vienna, passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 15, 2019, at 2:57 PM at her home.
Angie, as she was affectionately known to family and friends, was born September 12, 1962 at the Union County Hospital in Anna, Illinois. She was the daughter of Bill and Shelvy (Sims) Phelps.
In addition to her parents, Angie is survived by a dear friend who she thought of as a sister, Amanda Grant of Vienna, as well as her faithful canine companion “Romy.”
Angie was preceded in death by: a sister – Teresa S. Phelps Henderson; her maternal grandparents – Lloyd and Alma Sims and her paternal grandparents – Lennie and Helen Phelps.
Angie was a 1980 graduate of Vienna High School. She had been employed as a certified nurse’s aid (C.N.A.) at Hillview Health Care Center. She also had worked for a time as a waitress at Ned’s Shed.
Angie was baptized at Gilead Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was an avid reader.
A service honoring the life of Angie Phelps Pender will be conducted Saturday morning, October 19, 2019, at 11 AM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor Richard Swiney will officiate.
Burial will be in the Gilead Cemetery near Simpson.
Visitation will be held Saturday morning, October 19, 2019, from 10 AM – 11 AM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
