Sue Bagby

Sue Bagby, age 77 years, a resident of New Burnside, Illinois, passed away Monday evening, July 8, 2019, at 9:17 PM at her home.

Sue was born May 30, 1942 in Johnson County Illinois. She was the daughter of Leonard and Mary Jane (Penrod) Gore.

Sue was united in marriage to Harlan Morris. She was later united in marriage to Michael Bagby.

Sue is survived by: her children – Rick Morris of New Burnside, Tammy (Nathan) King of New Burnside, and Rusty (Pam) Morris of Ozark; 10 grandchildren – Stephanie, Samantha, Shane, Shawn, Casey, Jessi, Matthew, Jacob, Joshua and Tyler; 20 great grandchildren – 3 sisters – Ludene Harris of Herrin, Jean Welch of Vienna, and Wilma Barthelmon of Centerville, Michigan; a brother – Sam Richardson of Vienna; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Sue was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Gore, who was lost on July 30, 1945 in the sinking of the U.S.S. Indianapolis while serving his country during World War II; her mother – Mary Jane Gore Richardson; her stepfather – Alpha Richardson; and 2 grandsons – Roger Lee Morris and Dustin Ray Street.

Sue attended Vienna High School. She had been employed at the Good Luck Glove Factory in Vienna as well as Green Implement Company in Cypress. While residing in Indiana, Sue was employed by Sylvania, Inc. as well as Seymour Tubing. She also managed a mobile home park in Seymour, Indiana.

Sue was a member of the New Burnside Community Church. She enjoyed mowing her lawn, gardening, and raising flowers. Sue particularly enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A graveside service honoring the life of Sue Bagby will be conducted Friday, July 12, 2019, at 4 PM at the Church of God Cemetery, 40 Church of God Road, Vienna, Illinois. Pastor Pete Slivinski will officiate.

There will be no public visitation. Those attending the service are asked to gather at the cemetery at 3:45 PM Friday.
