Barbara A. Kerley, age 62 years, a resident of the Grantsburg community, passed away Sunday afternoon, June 30, 2019, at 3:30 PM at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Barbara was born August 22, 1956 in Johnson County Illinois. She was the daughter of Herbert H. Hosfeldt and Hazel R. (Johnson) Hosfeldt.
Barbara was united in marriage to Rodger D. Kerley on February 14, 1979 at the Vienna First Baptist Church. He survives.
In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by her mother – Hazel Hosfeldt of Vienna; 2 children – Thomas Kerley of Grantsburg and Erin Kerley of Vienna; a brother – Herb (Christine) Hosfeldt of Vienna; nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and many friends and former co-workers.
Barbara was a 1974 graduate of Vienna High School. She was employed for over 20 years at the Vienna Dollar General Store. She retired in 2018 having achieved the position of assistant manager. Previously, Barbara had worked at the Vienna Coast-to-Coast store, Family Dollar store, andBill Miles Grocery.
Barbara was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vienna. She enjoyed walking, singing, and was a voracious reader.
A graveside service honoring the life of Barbara Kerley will be conducted Friday, July 5, 2019, at 4:30 PM at the Kerley Cemetery in the Flatwoods community. Pastor Travis Wilson will officiate.
Visitation will be conducted Friday, July 5, 2019, from 2 PM – 4 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
