Pauline Rose Hayes Hight, 92, of Karnak, went to her final resting place at 10:15 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2019 at the Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Metropolis.
Pauline was born in Karnak October 16, 1926. Her parents were Harve and Mabel Oliver Hayes.
Pauline and James (Pete) Hight were united in marriage in 1946. Pauline had worked 32 years in the Public Aid Office and was a member of the Belknap Order of Eastern Star #710 and lifelong member of the Karnak Pentecostal Church. Pauline loved going to her grandkids and great-grandkids ball games.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Marlan (Barbara) Hight of Grand Chain; daughter in law, Tricia Hight of West Plains, Missouri; grandchildren, Corby (Kara) Hight of Grand Chain, Taffy (Shane) Halvorsen of Grand Chain; six great-grandkids, Cordon Hight, Caden Hight, Cason Hight, Kenna Hight, Christian Halvorsen and Cassidy Halvorsen; she also has a nephew, Mark (Pam) Loven, neice, Deidre Loven.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James (Pete) Hight in 1991; son, Joey Dale Hight (2016) and a sister, Betty Loven.
Funeral services honoring the life of Pauline Rose Hayes Hight will be at 12 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak. Rev. Gerell Cain will be officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Cypress Cemetery.
Pallbearers honoring will be Corby Hight, Shane Halvorsen, Cordon Hight, Caden Hight, Cason Hight and Christian Halvorsen.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Cypress Cemetery. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
