Norma Hamilton, 71, of Karnak, passed away at 7:15 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019 at her home with her loving family by her side.
Norma was born March 6, 1948 in New Albany, Indiana.
She was a graduate of Clarksville High School in Clarksville, Indiana. Norma went on to further her education and was a graduate of Indiana State University and later receiving her Master’s Degree at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Norma and Dean Hamilton were united in marriage on March 25, 1972. Norma retired from Century Elementary School after 42 years of teaching and had also taught in the Indiana school system for 7 years. She loved being an educator and teaching children. Norma loved spending time with her grandchildren and reading to them.
She is survived by her husband, Dean Hamilton of Karnak; two sons, Michael Dean Hamilton of Karnak and Jonathon Mark Hamilton of Saint Louis; grandchildren, Mikenna Grace Hamilton and Jacob Logan Hamilton of Karnak; brother, Harry Graff of Texas.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Anna Graff; brother, Wayne Harold Graff.
Funeral services honoring the life of Mrs. Norma Hamilton will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the Caledonia Community Church in Olmsted. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 till 8 at the church and Tuesday morning from 9 until the funeral hour. Rev. Steve Heisner will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Anderson Cemetery (County Road 150 E) Boaz, Massac County.
Music will be provided by Steve and Heather Heisner
Pallbearers will be Dean Hamilton, Jonathon Hamilton, Mike Hamilton, Tammy Wilson, Debbie Goins and Ricky Griffey.
