Gracia Lavinia Snyder Minor, 92, of Karnak, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Metropolis Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Gracia was born August 4, 1926 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Growing up in Arkansas she used to pick cotton everyday with her family, she would pick 25 lb of cotton per day. Later in life she operated a shoe store in Valparaiso, Indiana and also worked in the Valparaiso Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Christian Church in Grand Chain.
Gracia is survived by two sons, Allen Minor of Branson, Missouri and Steve (Kay) Minor of Sun City, Arizona; a sister-in-law Sandra Snyder of Metropolis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Minor; parents, Louis and Dora Mae Burklow Snyder; four brothers, Lloyd, Carl, Wayne and John Snyder; sister, Celistis Snyder.
Per the family’s request, cremation was accorded with services to be held later.
Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak has been entrusted with the arrangements.
