Leila Crice Canada, 76, of Belknap, passed away at 7:30 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2019 at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky.
Leila was born February 6, 1943 in Belknap. Leila and Bob Canada were united in marriage on August 22, 1965. She had worked over 25 years in the Postal Department having retired on February 28, 2006. She had worked as Postmaster in Belknap and Simpson. Leila was an excellent cook and baker, she loved to travel. Leila and Bob enjoyed square dancing and line dancing. Her pride and joy was Jaxon, her red headed grandson. Leila loved playing the piano and painting, she enjoyed flowers, springtime and longer evenings in the summer. She always enjoyed discussing politics and current events.
She is survived by two sons, Jeff Canada of Belknap, Brian (wife, Jaimee) Canada of Colp; grandson, Jaxon Canada of Colp and many many nieces, nephews and friends.
Leila was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Canada in 2002; parents, Howard and Christine Burns Crice; brother, Howard Crice jr.; sister, Lois Elaine Crice.
Funeral services honoring the life of Mrs. Leila Crice Canada will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2019 at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak. Rev. Bill Carter will officiate. Interment will follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Belknap. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 till 8 at the funeral home and Friday morning from 9 a.m. until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Lung Association. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
