Carl “Gene” Conroy, age 77, of Bourbonnais, IL, died on Friday, March 8, 2019 at home.
Gene was born on October 29, 1941 to William and Mamie (Casey) Conroy in Tunnel Hill, IL. He married Bonnie Schlondorf on April 8, 1961 in Bloomfield, IL. He retired from Kankakee County Planning as a plumbing inspector. He was the former owner of Ole North Realty in Bradley. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Bradley, IL. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved spending time with his family.
Gene is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Bourbonnais, IL; one son, Jeff (Christine) Conroy of Bourbonnais, IL; two sisters, Brenda Cremeens of Bloomfield, IL and Janet (Bob) Futch of Vienna, IL; one brother, Kenneth (Alice) Conroy of Vienna, IL; four grandchildren, Cassie (Jason) Satter, Brandy (Derek) Buchmeier, Tori (Corey) Legan and Erikka Conroy and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 12 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Homes, Bourbonnais Chapel.
Another visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 13 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Gene’s funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Homes, Bourbonnais Chapel. Burial will immediately follow at Mound Grove Gardens of Memory in Kankakee, IL.
