Michael Shawn Neill

Michael Shawn Neill, 42, of Karnak, went missing on June 25, 2017 while camping near Grand Chain beside the Ohio River.  Shawn was found near Urbandale on the banks of the river on May 14, 2018.

Shawn was born February 22, 1975 in Metropolis.

He worked as a Vintner at the Cache River Basin Winery in Belknap. Shawn enjoyed arrowhead hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting and riding his dirt bike. He had previously worked as a welder at Transcraft in Anna.

Shawn is survived by his mother, Judy Bond Neill of Karnak; Aunts and Uncles, Lora (Mike) Colboth of Sumter, South Carolina, John (Sue) Neill of Grand Chain, Raymond (Irene) Neill of Aldrich, Missouri, Pat (Lester) Temke of Karnak, Vernon Henry of Cypress and many cousins and friends.

Shawn was preceded in death by his father, Rex Neill (2018); Uncle,  Darrel “Bondo” Bond; grandparents, Noah and Norma Slankard Bond and Henry and Twila Neill.

Funeral services honoring the life of Michael Shawn Neill will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak.  Rev. Alan Milligan will be officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Belknap.
