Rosemarie Zawacki

Rosemarie Zawacki, age 87 years, a resident of rural Vienna since 2008, passed away Saturday afternoon, November 10, 2018, at 12:17 PM at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky. Prior to moving to Johnson County, Rosemarie and John lived in Oak Lawn for 46 years and many of their best friends and neighbors were from there.

Rosemarie was born October 21, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the daughter of William and Lillian (Luckel) Vondrasek.

On December 26, 1953, Rosemarie was united in marriage to John T. Zawacki in Chicago, Illinois. He survives.

Rosemarie was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her 3 children – Deborah (Dan) Beltz of Vienna, John (Carol) Zawacki of Orland Park, and Tom (Sue) Zawacki of Lombard; 4 grandchildren – Andy (Brittany) Beltz, Adam (Lisa Talla) Beltz, Kaitlin (Tim) Zawacki-Nguyen, and Jesse Zawacki; and 4 great grandchildren – Isabella, Reegan, Ava, and Logan. She also leaves a sister-in-law – Mary Jane Johnson of Somonauk.

Rosemarie was preceded in death by her parents and her sister.

She had been employed in clerical departments and in the retail sales field.

Rosemarie was a parishioner of St. Paul Catholic Church in Vienna. She enjoyed shopping, eating ice cream, working crossword puzzles, reading, dancing, attending parties and socializing with family and friends. She was a member of the Vivacious Vienna Red Hat Society. Rosemarie was dearly loved and will be fondly remembered by everyone she ever met.

A Memorial Mass honoring the life of Rosemarie Zawacki will be conducted Saturday morning, November 24, 2018, at 11 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church near Vienna. Father Tom Barrett will officiate.

Following the service, family and friends are invited to share a meal and continued time of fellowship in the St. Paul parish hall.
