Ella Carlton

Ella Carlton, age 83 years, a resident of Vienna, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018, at 6:15 AM at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, Kentucky.

Ella was born March 1, 1935 in the Reynoldsville community. She was the daughter of Clovis Pearl Eudy and Virgie Jewel (Cain) Eudy.

On March 17, 1973, Ella was united in marriage to Wayne Carlton at the Ullin First Baptist Church. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2011.

Ella is survived by her children: Connie (Ron) Duncan of Vienna, Kathy Baumann of Murphysboro, Sherry (Bobby) Throgmorton of Vienna, Jeff (Amy) Carlton of Columbia, Tennessee, Doug (Kathy) Carlton of Makanda, David Carlton of Broughton, and Mike (Devonna) Carlton of Vienna; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 2 brothers – Lynn (Janelle) Eudy and Lyman (Jean) Eudy all of Jonesboro; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ella was preceded in death by: a sister – Janice Rhodes and a son-in-law – Ray Baumann.

Ella was a 1953 graduate of Shawnee High School. She was a member of the first graduating class from the new school.

Ella worked for over 24 years as a shoe dresser at the former Florsheim Shoe factory in Anna prior to her retirement in 1989.

Ella was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and craft making.

A memorial service will be conducted Monday afternoon, November 26, 2018, at 5 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 3 PM – 5 PM Monday at Bailey Funeral Home.
