Eagles defeat Galatia, Century and Carrier Mills

The Vienna Classic Tournament came to an end this past week.

The Vienna Eagles Varsity men’s basketball team were able to set their record at 3-2. Coming off a win against Galatia, Monday, Nov. 19 with a final score of 65-51, the Eagles won Tuesday, Nov. 20 against Century with a score of 80-56. Leading scorers included both Seniors Gabe Snell with 20 points and Zane Hutchinson with 12 points.

The Eagles then lost to a very tough Eldorado team on Wednesday, Nov. 21 losing 64-36. Leading scorer was Sophomore, Lane Ross with 6 points.

Friday, Nov. 23 the Eagles won in a thrilling game against Carrier Mills, 55-50. Leading scorers both having 13 points were Senior Zane Hutchinson and Sophomore Carter Bishop.

The final game of the tournament was played Saturday, Nov. 24 against Cobden, who just edged out the Eagles with a score of 49-42. Leading scorers included Senior Gabe Snell with 10 points and Sophomore Lane Ross with 9 points.

To finish up the night, Eldorado won the tournament going flawless with a perfect 5-0 record.

All tournament teams were announced as well, with one Vienna Eagles player being named: Senior Zane Hutchinson.

The Eagles showed potential for the upcoming regular season and conference games. The Eagles will play their next game on Saturday, December 1st at 6p.m. against Meridian.
