Fall Heritage Festival parade draws big crowd

The Johnson County Elks’ Fall Heritage Festival and parade was well attended in Vienna Saturday. Nearly 75 floats and other units participated in the parade. Hundreds of parade watchers lined the streets. This is the second year the Elks have hosted the annual event. The Grand Marshal of the parade was Buncombe resident Dolly Hopkins.
There were three awards presented for the best parade entries; first place business, first place church and the Elks Choice Award. Gilead Church, near Simpson, won the church division while Classy Concrete took the best business and Elks Choice.
