Billy J. Haines

Billy J. Haines, age 83 years, a resident of Caledonia, Michigan and a former resident of Metropolis, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 10, 2018.  He was born in Charleston, Missouri on April 20, 1935 to John and Lamon Haines.

Bill was a farmer most of his life and a faithful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.  He had a vibrant faith and was a very active member in his church, volunteering in leadership, singing and visiting members.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jerry (Harris) Haines on September 4, 2017.  He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Daphne (Joe) Stearns; grandchildren – Sean Stearns, Ali (Jayson) Bussa, Samuel Stearns, Anna Stearns, and Steven Stearns; a great granddaughter – Berklee; great grandsons – Whitaker and Watson; brothers and sisters – Donil Haines, James (Sonja) Haines, Dennis (Fran) Haines, and Janet (David) Croney; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law – Howard Thomure, Bill (Deloris) Harris, Cheryl Harris, and Carla (Terry) Huffman; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

A service honoring the life of Billy J. Haines will be conducted Friday afternoon, October 19, 2018, at 12 Noon at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.  Pastor Mike Hardison will officiate.  Burial will be in the Cypress Cemetery.  Visitation will be conducted from 10:30 AM – 12 Noon at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.

Memorials may be made to the Rehoboth A.F.C., 10785 Burlingame Ave, S.W., Byron Center, MI 49315 and may be left in care of the funeral home.
