Goreville Village Hall employees moved their offices to the building that used to occupy Regions bank last weekend.
Administrative Assistant/Water Clerk Pam Perry she is the only one in the building full time right now, but the other employees are working on moving into their offices.
Plans for the move were decided last spring, and the building was officially purchased Aug. 30.
“I love it,” said Perry
She said the size of the building is about three times what their old offices contained. The old office was shared with the Goreville Fire Department. No plans have been decided on who will take over the office space.
Perry said the amount of files that need to be kept in a city office are amazing, and the building is much more efficient for the needs of the city.
Perry said several ideas are in place for parts of the building, including turning the basement into a community center and storm shelter. With the basement being unfinished, this goal will take some time to reach.
