Goreville FFA Chapter named Top Ten in nation

The National Chapter Award is made up of three areas: Growing Leaders, Building Communities, and Strengthening Agriculture. In 2012 the Model of Excellence division was added to the competition to name the top ten schools or Future Farmers of America (FFA) programs in the Nation.

There are 7556 chapters in the nation and every year the National Chapter Award program names the top ten chapters in the nation and recognize them onstage at the National Convention held in October.

This year the Goreville FFA chapter has been named one of the top ten chapters in the Nation.

Goreville FFA has been named a Model of Excellence for the third time in the chapter’s history. Two members of the chapter will prepare to compete for the Model of Excellence National Winner recognition at the National FFA Convention held in Indianapolis, In.

Two students: Jacob Calhoon and Hallie Grenfell will present in front of a panel of judges in each of the three areas and then participated in an interview over the chapter’s activities. After the competition the chapter will be recognized on stage at National Convention and will be presented a National Finalists Plaque.
