Goreville School Superintendent Dr. Steve Webb, a member of the Illinois Terrorism Task Force School Safety Team, was invited to speak at the National School Safety Conference in Orlando, FL this summer. Webb, a certified ALICE Active Shooter Response Instructor, works with schools across the nation to enhance prevention strategies aimed at keeping kids safe.
“If we prevent violence by building relationships and identifying risks, all of these response protocols and threshold fears will hopefully become obsolete,” said Webb. “Everyone believes they have the best plan but in reality, great teaching and connecting with kids is the only proven way to keep our schools safe.”
Webb will also be a featured speaker at the Illinois Association of School Boards Conference in Chicago this November.
