Sharon “Diane” Poshard, age 72 years, a resident of Vienna, passed away Thursday morning, August 30, 2018, at 12:20 AM at her home.
Diane was born April 6, 1946 in Evansville, Indiana. She was the daughter of James E. Franklin, Sr. and Dorothy M. (Hobgood) Franklin.
Diane is survived by: her children – Jason Poshard of Energy and Heather Buffum of Arcadia, Indiana; 3 grandchildren – Madison, Sydney and Sophia; her siblings – Cathy (Cecil) Funk of Riverton, Jay (LaRaye) Franklin of Goreville, Pam Franklin of Vienna, and Ed (Pam) Franklin of Paducah, Kentucky; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by: a brother – James E. Franklin, Jr.; and 2 sisters – Carrietta O’Connor and Deborah J. White.
Diane was a 1964 graduate of Norris City High School and then attended business college in Springfield. Diane was employed as an insurance coding specialist in Springfield and later in Marion, Illinois. She was also a homemaker. Diane enjoyed knitting, reading and gardening. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church near Cypress.
A service honoring the life of Sharon Diane Poshard will be held Monday, September 3, 2018, at 2 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Diane’s brother, Pastor Jay Franklin, will officiate. Burial will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery.
Visitation will be conducted from 12 Noon – 2 PM Monday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
