Marla Flo Aly

Marla Flo Aly was born November 12, 1957.  She passed away on August 14th, 2018 at the Anna Rehab and Nursing Center.   She resided at Glenbrook in Vienna.  Past residences were at the Murray Center in Centralia and the Bowen Center in Harrisburg.

Marla was named after her grandmother Flo (Thorton) Aly.

Born to Ralph & Mary Catherine (Barger) Aly who preceded her in death.  Also preceding her death was a brother, Ralph Douglas Aly.

She is survived by two brothers, Charles and Vicki Aly (Simpson) and Jeffrey and Linda Aly (Eddyville).  Nieces and nephews include, Lisa Jo Aly, Nikki and Jonathan Duncan, Mark Aly, Adrienne and Paul Gurley, Erin and Victor English, April and Jeremy Hogg, Jeffrey and Christine Aly and Amber Aly.  Several great-nieces and nephews and three aunts, Joyce Aly, Linda Killingsworth and Dixie Barger and many cousins.

Marla’s favorite things in life were going to church, babies and eating.  When Marla was in church, it didn’t matter what church she was at, they were going to all stand and sing I’ll Fly Away.  Marla was also going to be at the front leading the song.  She loved all family and church gatherings.  Especially any of them that included a meal.  She loved a potluck at church and John Tanner better keep his hands off her plate.  When it came time to take Marla back home, she always had to have her supply of microwave popcorn and money for soda.  Sometimes, even if she had those things, she still thought she needed to stop and get a cheeseburger, fries and a soda.  It also didn’t matter who took her back either.  She would let you know that McDonald’s was a requirement.

Marla also enjoyed her Special Olympics competitions.  She could throw a softball very good and won several medals for the farthest throw.  She liked bowling, playing games and working puzzles.  Marla was very friendly and social and loved giving hugs.

Marla especially loved her ornery brothers that never picked on her while growing up.  But, if they didn’t start anything with her, then she would with them.  Marla almost always had a smile on her face and early Tuesday morning she flew away to be with the Lord.
