Jerilyn L. Hodges Cook, age 51 years, a resident of Vienna, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 23, 2018, at 12:04 PM at her home.
Jerilyn was born August 10, 1967 in Carbondale, Illinois. She was the daughter of Jim and Noretta (Buckles) Hodges.
In September 2017, Jerilyn was united in marriage to Steve Cook in Paducah, Kentucky. He survives.
In addition to her husband, Jerilyn is survived by: her father – Jim (Linda) Hodges of The Villages, Florida; 2 daughters – Amanda (Drew) Shoemaker and Anna Marie Thompson all of Vienna; a granddaughter – Journee Noretta-Ann Shoemaker; 2 step grandchildren – Jessa Shoemaker and Andrew Shoemaker; a sister – Joan (Rob) Phillips of Carbondale; and a nephew – Weylin McDermott-Phillips.
Jerilyn was preceded in death by her mother, Noretta Hodges.
Jerilyn was a 1985 graduate of Vienna High School. She had been employed as a special education aide at Vienna High School and had also worked at the Vienna Nursery. Jerilyn was a homemaker and had a passion for gardening. She also enjoyed cooking, riding 4-wheelers and she loved the beach.
Jerilyn was a member of the Vienna First United Methodist Church.
A memorial gathering for family and friends will be conducted Sunday afternoon, August 26, 2018, from 4 PM – 6 PM at Bailey Funeral Home. A prayer service will be conducted at 6 PM led by Dr. Glenn Webb.
