Bonnie Sue Mott

Bonnie Sue Mott, of rural Simpson, Illinois, went to meet her savior on July 25, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Bonnie was born July 26, 1947, in Metropolis, Illinois to Clarence and Vevia Reed.

On April 19, 1965, Bonnie was united in marriage to Clyde Mott Jr. They were blessed with 53 years of marriage.

Bonnie is survived by her beloved husband, Junior, two daughters and one son along with their spouses, (daughter) Michelle and Steve Sanders of Vienna, (son) Michael and Donna Mott of Simpson, (daughter) Iris and David Jones of Simpson. Five beloved grandchildren, Nicholas Mott and his wife Amy of Harrisburg, Alysha Mott of Simpson, Avie and Abby Jones of Simpson, and Aiden Sanders of Vienna. One great-grandchild, Elisa Mott and a new little one to arrive in August.

Brothers Bobby and Carolyn Reed of Carbondale, Ronnie Butler and Vickie Reed of Simpson, Lonny and Carla Reed of Harrisburg. Sisters, Sharon and Jonah Butler of Harrisburg, Pat and Jim Blankenship of Golconda, Donna Souders of Brookport, and sister-in-law, Edna Reed of Golconda. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Vevia Reed, and two brothers, Clarence and Gene Reed.

At the age of thirteen, Bonnie accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and became a Christian. She always told J. R., “I love you the most, right under the Lord.”

A memorial service honoring Bonnie’s life will be held on August 3, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at New Liberty Church near Eddyville, Illinois. Brother Richard Bundren will officiate.
