Deborah S. “Debbie” Trigg, age 62 years, a resident of rural Simpson, passed away Thursday morning, June 21, 2018, at 11:26 AM at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis.
Debbie was born December 8, 1955 in Sardis, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Lee Roy and Francis (Dixon) Mahan.
On September 22, 1973, Debbie was united in marriage to Robert “Gene” Trigg in Batavia, Illinois. He survives.
Other survivors include: 2 daughters – Angela (Chad) Phelps and Andrea (Anthony) Jordan as well as 4 grandchildren – Clayton and Caitlyn Phelps and Alivia and Aiden Jordan all of Simpson; her siblings – Linda Peeples and Barbara (Lonnie) McClenic all of Courtland, Mississippi, Phil (Bonnie) Mahan of Aurora, Juanita (John) Grindstaff and Sandy (Everett) Kerley all of Grantsburg; sisters-in-law – Evelyn Spurlin of Simpson and Kathy (Frank) Workman of Vienna; a brother-in-law – Jimmy Trigg of Tunnel Hill; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by: her father-in-law & mother-in-law – Jim and Alice Trigg; a brother – Billy Mahan; and brothers-in-law – Kenneth Trigg, Bill Peeples, Leslie Dawson and Joe Gierden.
Debbie was a graduate of Batavia High School. She enjoyed working with the public at various local businesses.
Debbie was of the Christian faith and was a member of County Line Baptist Church in the Flatwoods community. She enjoyed a number of hobbies, including – sewing, fishing, cooking, reading and most of all spending time with her family.
A service honoring the life of Debbie Trigg will be conducted Sunday afternoon, June 24, 2018, at 2 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor David Faulkner will officiate. Burial will be in the Kerley Cemetery in the Flatwoods community.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 24, 2018, from 12 Noon – 2 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
