Rex Neill, 70, of Karnak, passed away at 3:41 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky.
Rex was born June 6, 1947 in Dade County, Missouri, He grew up on the family farm and raised cattle. He was a graduate of Dadeville High School in Dadeville, Missouri. Rex and Judy Bond Neill were United in marriage on April 5, 1968. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved mushroom hunting and fishing. Rex was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the 1st Battalion 8th Infantry Division Battle in Dak To. He retired from Allied Signal in Metropolis in 2006.
Rex is survived by his wife, Judy Bond Neill; two brothers, John (Sue) Neill of Grand Chain, Raymond (Irene) Neill of Fairplay, Missouri; sister, Wilda Neill of Springfield, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Shawn Neill; parents, Henry and Twila Compton Neill; three brothers, Jim, Billy and Bobby Neill; one sister, Mary Henry.
Funeral Services honoring Mr. Rex Neill will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak. Rev. Alan Milligan and Rev. Jerry Parr will be officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5 till 8 and Sunday morning from 10 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Belknap. Full military honors will be accorded by the Illinois National Guard Burial Detail Team and area veterans.
