Betty Lou Hayes Loven, 87, of Karnak, passed away at 5:47 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2018 at her home with her family by her side.
Betty was born November 17, 1930 in Karnak. She was United in marriage with Henry Byron Loven on November 17, 1954.
Betty loved going to church and was a member of the Belknap Pentecostal Church, she loved playing the piano, volunteered many years at Century and was known as their “Granny” and enjoyed going to her nephew’s ball games.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Deidre Loven of Karnak; son, Mark (Pam) Loven of Metropolis; sister, Pauline Hight of Karnak; nephew, Marlan (Barb) Hight of Grand Chain; niece, Tricia Hight of West Plains, Missouri; great nephew, Corby (Kara) Hight of Grand Chain; great-niece Taffy (Shane) Halvorsen of Grand Chain; great-great nephews, Cordon, Cason and Caden Hight of Grand Chain, Christian Halvorsen of Grand Chain; great- great nieces, Cassidy Halverson and Kenna Mae Hight both of Grand Chain, and a host of church family.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Byron Loven on August 3, 1979; her parents, Harve and Mabel Oliver Hayes; nephew, Joey Hight; brother-in-law, Pete Hight.
Funeral services honoring the life of Betty Lou Hayes Loven will be at 12 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Belknap Pentecost Church. Reverend Kenneth Capps will be officiating. The family will receive friends Monday morning from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour at the church. Interment will follow at the Anderson Cemetery in Boaz, (Massac County).
Pallbearers will be Corby Hight, Corden Hight, Caden Hight, Cason Hight, Christian Halvorsen, Donnie Vaughn and Terry Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Childress, Willie Carr and Max Hutchison.
Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak has been entrusted with the arrangements.
