Mary Sue Aaron

Mary Sue Aaron, age 85 years, a resident of Johnson County Illinois, passed away Saturday evening, March 10, 2018, at Meridian Village Senior Living Community in Glen Carbon, Illinois.

Mary Sue was born October 19, 1932 in the Mt. Erie community in Wayne County Illinois. She was the daughter of Charles “Raymond” and Rada (Travers) Wardell.

On June 7, 1953, Mary Sue was united in marriage to Robert L. Aaron in Mt. Erie. He preceded her in death on March 4, 2014.

Mary Sue is survived by: her children – Deborah Sue Aaron (her husband, Carl) Inman of Glen Carbon, Steve (his wife, Marilyn) Aaron of Nashville, Alex (his wife, Juli) Aaron of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Cathy (her husband, Ricky) Dull of Richland, Missouri, Dan (his wife, Sharlee) Aaron of Albion, and Julie (her husband, Scott) Woodward of Englewood, Colorado; 19 grandchildren – Erica (her husband, Camden) Bucey of Round Lake Beach, Joshua (his wife, Lisa) Inman of Maryville, Gregory (his wife, Lauren) Inman of Denver, Colorado, Stephanie (her husband, Stu) Niecko of Elgin, Angela Aaron and Lucas Aaron both of Nashville, Braden (his wife, Courtney) Aaron of Austin, Texas, Aubrey Lee Aaron of Elk City, Oklahoma, Joseph Aaron, Joy Aaron, and Allison Aaron all of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Matthew (his wife, Melissa) Ferguson of Anchorage, Alaska, Samuel Ferguson of Ozark, Missouri, Sara (her husband, Darin) Pearson of Lompoc, California, Michael (his wife, Ashley) Aaron of Ballwin, Missouri, Travis Aaron of Albion, Laura Woodward of Englewood, California, Stuart Dull of Minot, North Dakota and Andrea Bailey of Wilbraham, Massachusetts; 20 great grandchildren – Derek, Miles, and David Bucey, Colby, Hailey, and Noah Inman, Sheridan and Levi Aaron, Ashlyn and Caden Niecko, Connor Pearson, Leighton and Taylor Ferguson, Sheamus Ferguson, Caden and Samuel Ferguson, Piper Aaron, T.J. and Kara Dull, & Keagan Bailey; 2 brothers – Pete (his wife, Tracy) Walter and Bob (his wife, Chris) Walter; 3 sisters-in-law – Janet (her husband, Ken) Whitsett, Margaret (the late Roy) Marlatt and Faye (her husband, Jim) Burns; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Sue was preceded in death by: a sister – Hattie Miller and a brother – John Wardell.

Mary Sue earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She is remembered as a loving wife, mother, homemaker, school librarian, kindergarten teacher, grandmother and great grandmother. Her hobbies and interests included gardening, bird watching, hiking, cooking and working jigsaw puzzles. Mary Sue attended Countryside Christian Church in Vienna.

A worship service honoring the life of Mary Sue Aaron will be conducted Tuesday morning, March 20, 2018, at 10 AM at Countryside Christian Church, 135 Dameron Lane, Vienna, Illinois. Brother Bill Littrell will officiate assisted by Mrs. Aaron’s son, Alex Aaron.
Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in the Rock Community in Pope County, Illinois.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 19, 2018, from 4 PM – 8 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna and from 9 AM until the service hour on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at Countryside Christian Church.
