Earline Penrod Gore

Earline Penrod Gore, age 89 years, a resident of Vienna, passed away Friday morning, February 2, 2018, at 5:25 AM at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky.

Earline was born May 5, 1928 in the Mt. Olive Community in Johnson County Illinois. She was the youngest of eleven children born to Henry Preston Harner and Ruby Melissa (Holmes) Harner.

On January 7, 1948, Earline was united in marriage to Marion “Penny” Penrod in Pocahontas, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1984. Earline was later united in marriage to Lavern Gore on December 23, 2004 at the Vienna Church of Christ. He preceded her in death on October 25, 2008.

Earline is survived by: 2 children – Brenda (David) McKenzie and Steven (Tina) Penrod all of Vienna; 4 grandchildren – Brian (Tammy) McKenzie of West Paducah, Kentucky, Melissa (Jason) Kommer, Staci (Jeremy) Shafer, and Stephani (Joey) Borders all of Vienna; 9 great grandchildren – Gavin McKenzie, Owen Kommer, McKenzie Kommer, Christina Bynum, Maci Bynum, Penni Bynum, Will Borders, Graham Borders, and Claire Borders; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Earline was preceded in death by: 6 sisters – Mildred Harner, Dimple Harner, Mable Brooks, Margaret Harner, Opal Mescher, and Mary Hardison; and 4 brothers – Paul, Carl, Elmer and Arthur Harner.

Earline was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing and is remembered for her love and devotion to her family. Earline also enjoyed spending time with her friends and socializing at Whistlers and Whittlers, the senior citizens center.

Earline was a member of Central Church of Christ in Paducah.

A service honoring the life of Earline Penrod Gore will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, February 6, 2018, at 1 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Brother Robert Guinn and Rev. Dr. Joe Richard will officiate.

Burial will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday evening, February 5, 2018, from 5 PM – 8 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
