Connie Jean Stockdale, age 68 years, a resident of rural Vienna, passed away Friday morning, February 2, 2018, at 4:25 AM at her home.
Connie was born February 11, 1949 in the Mt. Pisgah community in Johnson County Illinois. She was the daughter of Billy and Molly (Elkins) Adams.
On July 23, 1976, Connie was united in marriage to Edward Michael Stockdale in Cypress, Illinois. He survives.
Other survivors include: her mother – Molly Adams of rural Vienna; 2 sons – Adam Michael Stockdale and Alex Lee (his wife, LeeAnna) Stockdale all of Vienna; 2 grandchildren – Kaiden and Addison; 3 brothers – Bobby Adams of Vienna, Danny Adams of Danville, and Randy Adams of Vienna; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, other relatives and many friends.
Connie was a 1966 graduate of Vienna High School. She then attended Draughan’s Business College in Paducah, Kentucky. Connie began her banking career with Drover’s State Bank (which was later acquired by Banterra Bank). Connie served in various capacities in the lending and title departments prior to retiring on December 31, 2012 after 45 years service.
Connie was a member of the Vienna First Christian Church. She enjoyed caring for her family and particularly cherished time spent with her sons and grandchildren.
A graveside service honoring the life of Connie Stockdale will be conducted Sunday afternoon, February 4, 2017, at 2 PM at the McClanahan Cemetery, located on McClanahan Lane, Grantsburg, Illinois. Brother Les Chamberlain will officiate.
There will be no public visitation. Those attending the service are asked to gather at the cemetery at 1:45 PM Sunday afternoon.
