Margaret Sue Klem, age 70 years, a resident of rural Vienna, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at 11:55 AM at her home.
Margaret, affectionately known as Sue, was born December 13, 1947 in Reevesville, Illinois. She was the daughter of Norman L. and Margie (Cooper) Botarf.
On November 10, 1979, Sue was united in marriage to Jerry Klem in Chicago, Illinois. He survives.
Other survivors include: a son – Kevin (his wife, Debbie Frangedakis) Klem of Merriam, Kansas; 3 sisters – Joyce (her husband, Mike) Johns of Streamwood, Doris (her husband, Jim) Young of Indiana, and Mary Lou (her husband, Dennis) Hynes of Grantsburg; 2 brothers – Jerry (his wife, Susan) Botarf of Simpson, and Steve “Bo” (his wife, Laura) Botarf of Vienna; a special cousin who Margaret Sue loved like a sister, Shirley Brewer of Berwyn; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other cousins, relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by 2 brothers – Don Cooper and Norman Lewis Botarf.
Sue was a 1967 graduate of Vienna High School. She was employed in the Chicago area in an insulation manufacturing factory and later as a machine operator by Singer Sewing Machine Company.
Sue was very active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Black Hawk VFW Post # 7975 in Chicago. She had also served as the former President of Illinois District # 1 of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Sue was also an active volunteer and long-time leader of the P.T.A. at Jonathan Burr Elementary School in Chicago.
Sue is fondly remembered for her love of collecting and watching movies.
A service honoring the life of Margaret Sue Klem will be conducted Sunday afternoon, January 7, 2018, at 1 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor Marvin Ballard will officiate.
Inurnment will be at a later date in the Reevesville Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 7, 2018, from 11 AM – 1 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
