Rosa Lee Bell, age 85 years, a resident of rural Vienna, passed away Monday evening, December 4, 2017, at 11:59 PM at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis.
Rosa Lee was born March 24, 1932 in Union County Illinois. She was the daughter of Alex and Lourena (Jacobs) Davis.
In 1951, Rosa Lee was united in marriage to Raymond Eugene Bell in Jackson, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 17, 2009.
Rosa Lee is survived by: her children – Barbara Helen (Daryl Turner of Anna, Michael Eugene (Teri) Bell of Jonesboro, Raymond Eugene Bell, Jr. of Anna, Brenda Lee (Kenneth) Rains of Jonesboro, and Dwayne Lee (Carla) Bell of Vienna; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; 3 sisters – Pauline Neighbors and Faye Eastwood both of Anna and Patsy Ferguson of Jonesboro; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Rosa Lee was preceded in death by: a son – Howard Bell and 7 brothers and sisters.
Rosa Lee had been employed as a private home health care provider. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary of the Carroll P. Foster VFW Post # 3455 in Anna as well as the Anna Moose Lodge # 1346. Rosa Lee was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed playing gin rummy and in her youth enjoyed swimming, fishing and camping. Rosa Lee is fondly remembered for her devotion to her family and cherished spending time with them.
A memorial service honoring the life of Rosa Lee Bell will be conducted Saturday afternoon, December 9, 2017, at 1 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Inurnment will be in the Ebenezer Hall Cemetery near Lick Creek.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 Noon – 1 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
