Anneice M. Watkins – Obituary

Anneice M. Watkins, age 59 years, a resident of rural Vienna, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, November 26, 2017, at 2:34 AM at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis.

Anneice was born December 7, 1957 in Marion, Illinois. She was the daughter of Wayne T. and Shirley J. (Moore) Jeffries.

On December 29, 1978, Anneice was united in marriage to J.P. Watkins in Vienna, Illinois. He survives.

Additionally, Anneice is survived by: her daughters – Sheba (her husband, Ryan) Radamaker of Vienna and Megan Watkins of Marion; 2 grandchildren – Ayden and Jaylyn; 4 sisters – Blenda Jeffries Humphrey of Paducah, Kentucky, Donita (her husband, Ronnie) Jeffries Kerr of Phoenix, Arizona, Shirlyn (her husband, Jack) Jeffries Land of Metropolis and Carol (her husband, John) Jeffries Chester of Marion; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Anneice was preceded in death by a brother, James Louis Jeffries.

Anneice was a 1976 graduate of Vienna High School and had also attended Shawnee Community College. Anneice was employed for over 20 years as a teacher’s aide at the Vienna Grade School, prior to her retirement in 2010.

Anneice was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and particularly treasured time spent with her grandchildren. Anneice is fondly remembered for her pie baking abilities; in particular her “always perfect” pie crusts.

A service honoring the life of Anneice Watkins will be conducted Thursday morning, November 30, 2017, at 10 AM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Dr. Jerry Day will officiate. Burial will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery.

Visitation will be conducted Wednesday evening, November 29, 2017, from 5 PM – 8 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
