The Vienna-Goreville football team went on the road Friday, Oct. 13, to take on the tough Sesser-Valier Devils. With the Devils already having a 7-0 undefeated season, they looked to continue their superb year.
The Eagles tried to ruin the perfect season the Devils were having, however Sesser brought their A game as always. They jumped on the Eagles early and didn’t look back as they cruised to an 38-13 victory over Vienna-Goreville.
The Eagles weren’t able to get much offense going as Sesser’s defense was to much, only allowing the Eagles to get two touchdowns throughout the whole game.
After the loss, the Eagles record is now at 4-4 on the year. With one more win the Eagles could potentially get into the playoffs.
The Eagles have one last opportunity as their final game will be on Saturday, Oct. 21s at 1:00 p.m. at home against Carmi White County. This will be a make or break game for the Eagles, so be sure to come out and support them on!
