Marilyn R. Ditterline, age 60, a resident of rural Vienna, passed away Tuesday morning, September 26, 2017, at 9:35 AM at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Marilyn was born October 16, 1956 in Peoria, Illinois. She was the second of six children born to John L. and Mildred L. (Carlton) Gurley.
On March 23, 1974, Marilyn was united in marriage to Phillip L. Ditterline at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church near Grantsburg. He survives.
Other survivors include: their three sons – Sean (Wendy) Ditterline of Paducah, Kentucky, Heath (Ginger) Ditterline of Metropolis, and Chris (Kelly Fitzgerald) Ditterline of Vienna; 3 sisters – Lois Ann (Jimmie) Inman of Vienna, Vicky (George) Yates of Vienna, and Sonia (Derek) Grantham of La Center, Kentucky; 2 brothers – Danny (Connie) Gurley of Vienna and John “Ernie” (Paula) Gurley of Goreville; her mother-in-law – Freeda Ditterline of the Flatwoods community, as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mildred Gurley.
Marilyn was a 1974 graduate of Vienna High School. She was employed by Blue Cross/Blue Shield and later EDS Provider Consultants as a medical review auditor.
Marilyn was of the Baptist faith. She had enjoyed a number of hobbies and pastimes including hunting, fishing, dancing and league bowling.
A service honoring the life of Marilyn Ditterline will be conducted Sunday afternoon, October 1, 2017, at 2 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Rev. Kyle Loyd will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in the Renshaw community.
Visitation will be held Saturday evening, September 30, 2017, from 5 PM – 8 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
