On June 13th the Vienna FFA traveled to Springfield, IL to take part in the Illinois 88th State FFA Convention. Vienna FFA was able to send its biggest group to date, 14 FFA members, to convention thanks to receiving the America’s Farmers Grow Communities Grant awarded by Monsanto. Vienna FFA was nominated for the grant by Mary Jane and Noble White along with their family Kate, Clayton, Casey and family, and Kayla and family.
Vienna was grateful to receive the grant and provide more members than usual the opportunity of attending the State Convention. While at convention, members attended leadership workshops where they gained invaluable leadership skills that they can bring back and use in their homes and communities. The grant funds left over after attending convention will be used by Vienna FFA members to conduct Food for America lessons to local grade school students throughout the upcoming school year.
