Rose M. Roberts, 75, of Martinton died on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at her home in Martinton.
She was born on March 19, 1942, the daughter of Vernell and Ina Mae Hall Bell.
She married Philip Roberts in Kankakee on Nov. 11, 1961. He preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 2010.
Surviving is one son, Philip Glenn (Ruth) Roberts Jr.; one granddaughter, Jessica (fiance Carl Winans) Roberts of Catlin; one great-grandson, Colt Winans of Catlin; three brothers, Harold Bell of Rhinelander, Wis., Vernon (Linda) Bell of Goreville, and Jimmy (Deborah) Bell of Martinton; one sister, Carol Darlene (Bill) Bishop of Martinton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, and one sister, Brenda Shell.
She loved cooking, birdwatching, puzzles and going for rides. She enjoyed attending her greatnephew’s basketball games and spending time with her granddaughter and great-grandson.
Funeral services were at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017, at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville. A burial followed at Cana Cemetery in Goreville.
