Carol Anne Casey – Obituary

Carol Anne Casey, age 78 years, a resident of rural Ozark, passed away Saturday evening, April 15, 2017, at 11:02 PM at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.

Carol was born June 14, 1938 in Aurora, Illinois.  She was the youngest of four children born to Charles and Elizabeth “Betty” (Wright) Mosely.

On December 17, 1955, Carol was united in marriage to Joseph Edward Casey, Sr. in Valparaiso, Indiana.  He preceded her in death on October 26, 2004.

Carol is survived by: her children – Joseph E. (his wife, Gena) Casey, Jr. of Coulterville, Kathryn A. Matheny of New Burnside, and Antoinette L. (her husband, John) Bacon of Tunnel Hill; 8 grandchildren – Melissa and her husband Troy, Carol and her husband Kyle, Stephanie, Amanda, James and his wife Jill, Travis and his wife Lori, Joseph and his wife Savana and Hope; 15 great grandchildren – Erik, Savannah, Miranda, Corbin, Tory Joe, Cayden, Morgan Joseph, Kylie Joe, Ethen, Peyten, Reagen, Wyatt, Kyler, Parker and Tessa; a great-great grandson – Braylon; a sister – Charlene (her husband, Tony) Rodriguez of Lubbock, Texas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Carol was preceded in death by: 2 brothers – Charles Mosley and Edward Mosley.

Carol had been employed as a cashier at Safari Market in Yorkville.  Later, she worked as a bar tender at the VFW Post in Vienna. Carol was also a homemaker and is fondly remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother & grandmother.

Carol had volunteered as a cub scout leader and was a member of the Beggs-Gurley VFW Post ladies auxiliary in Vienna.  She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and spending time on her computer.  Carol cherished her family and friends and loved to spend time with them.

A memorial service honoring the life of Carol Casey will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017, at 3 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.  Pastor Gary Simmons will officiate.  The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 2 PM – 3 PM.
