Iris “Pat” Patton – Obituary

Iris “Pat” Patton, age 74 years, a resident of rural Grantsburg, IL, passed away Friday afternoon, April 14, 2017, at 12:58 PM at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky.

Pat was born March 22, 1943 in Labuca, Alabama. She was the daughter of Ira Brogdon and Mae Ova (McGough) Brogdon.

On December 22, 1961, Pat was united in marriage to William “Glenn” Patton in Chicago, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 23, 2016.

Pat is survived by: her children – Donna Kay (her husband, Ken) Herman of Grantsburg and James Glenn (his wife, Carla) Patton of Mexico; 6 grandchildren – Ashley Nicole Patton, James Michael Patton, Brandy “Maylynn” Nelson, Corey J. Patton, Gina Nichole Herman and James Glenn Herman; 9 great grandchildren – Trevor, Olivia, Annabella, Forsythia, Nathan, Autumn, Zayden, Nevaeh, and Julia; 2 sisters – Joy Ann (her husband, Enios) Watson of Gary, Indiana and Diane (her husband, Sonny) Cook of Grantsburg; a brother – Jim (his wife, Joan) Brogdon of Adamsville, Alabama; and 15 nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Pat was preceded in death by 2 brothers – Gary Brogdon and Ralph Brodgon.

Pat attended Wells High School in Chicago. She was employed as a bookkeeper at Central Stock Co. in Chicago.

Pat was skilled in many types of crafts, including crochet, doll making, woodwork and drawing. She was of the Baptist faith.

A service honoring the life of Pat Patton will be held Thursday, April 20, 2017, at 12 Noon at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor Lee Woolard will officiate. Burial will be in the Wise-Robinson Cemetery north of Ozark.

Visitation will be from 5 PM – 8 PM Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.

Memorials may be made to the family to assist with expenses.
