Jean Brenningmeyer, 92, of Goreville, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at her home.
Jean was born on December 31, 1924 in McCracken County, KY to Hugh and Stella (McChristian) Long. She married Kenneth Brenningmeyer on April 15, 1945 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Massac County. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1977.
Jean was a member of Goreville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bird watching, growing flowers and plants and spending time with friends and family.
Survivors include her children: David and Sue (Bazor) Brenningmeyer of Dongola, Donna and Buddy Bremer of Massac County, and Dennis and Sheryl (Gulley) Brenningmeyer of Goreville.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and nephew Roy Peeler Jr. and wife Donna of Benton, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Katherine Sanderson and two infant siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Goreville United Methodist Church with Rev. Andy Black officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Metropolis.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church.
