Anette McIntire O’Neal – Obituary

Anette McIntire O’Neal, 87, of Owensboro, Kentucky, died January 29, 2017 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky.

She was born December 10, 1929 in Illinois to the late Clyde and Hazel McIntire.

She worked in Public Personnel for Owensboro City Schools as a truancy officer in the 1960’s and taught at Lincoln and Foust schools in Owensboro and in Nashville.  She was a member of Third Baptist Church where she was a leader in the Senior Adult Ministry.  She was a church and school librarian everywhere she went; Third Baptist Church, Lewis Lane Baptist Church, Heritage Place, Carmel Home, in school libraries in both Illinois and Oklahoma and, most recently and importantly, in her garage.  As a resident of Heritage Place she started an art therapy class, a walking club, renovated the library and served on the committee to hire a new activities director.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Dr. Charles O’Neal on December 11, 2016 and by two brothers, Hillman McIntire and Clyne McIntire.

Survivors her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Jean O’Neal of Owensboro; her daughter, Nancy Stancl of Florida; three grandchildren, Jeremy O’Neal (Lauren) of Covington, TN, Chris (Madolyn) O’Neal of Elberfeld, IN and Heather Stancl of Tempe, AZ; and three great grandchildren, Shannon, Katelyn and Aiden.

Services are 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Third Baptist Church in Owensboro.

Visitation is from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church.  Burial will be at a later date at Robinson Cemetery in Ozark, IL.
