Harold Sauerbrunn Sr. – Obituary

Harold Sauerbrunn Sr. passed away at his home in Olmsted at 9:46 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the age of 74.  Mr. Sauerbrunn was born on August 20,1942 in Olmsted to the late Louie and Dorothy Shafer Sauerbrunn.  Mr. Sauerbrunn was a graduate of Grand Chain Elementary and a 1960 graduate of Grand Chain High School.  Harold was united in marriage with Ida Law Sauerbrunn formerly of Walshville, IL in 1964.

Harold was a lifetime resident of Olmsted where he was engaged in farming and was the owner/operator of HIS Trucking.  Mr. Sauerbrunn was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Olmsted.

He is survived by his wife, Ida of Olmsted, son Larry (Treesa) of Olmsted, Granddaughter Renee and Grandson Zachary both of Olmsted, Grandson Justin of Grand Chain and Grandson Mark (Kayla) Sauerbrunn of Karnak.  Three great grand daughters, Allie, Hannah and McKenzie Sauerbrunn of Karnak.  Brothers Dean (Jackie) of Johnson City, Kenny (Janice) of Jackson, MO, Special friends Caleb, Callie and Addy of Metropolis, Ron & Tina Peterson of Olmsted Carol Caudle of Grand Chain.  God parent to Mark and Maria Caudle of Grand Chain.  HE was proceeded in death by his parents, one son, Harold (Bud) Sauerbrunn, JR of Olmsted.  Sisters, Cora Spurney of Johnson City, Betty Sebeschak of Walshville, Il and baby brother William Sauerbrunn.

Funeral services honoring Mr. Harold Sauerbrunn Sr. will be Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Olmsted, Illinois.  Pastor Jim Rivett will be officiating.  Interment will be in the Concord Cemetery in Olmsted.  The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 till 8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church,  envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.  Pallbearers will be Zachary Sauerbrunn, Justin Sauerbrunn, Mark Sauerbrunn, Ron Peterson, Bruce Sauerbrunn, Caleb Baird, Chris Doctorman and Craig Doctorman.  Honorary pallbearers will be Renee Sauerbrunn, Kayla Sauerbrunn and Kelly Baird.
