Sheron “Granny” Evans, age 68, a resident of rural Golconda, passed away unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, November 19, 2016, at 2:04 PM at her home.
Sheron was born October 13, 1948 in Bertrand, Missouri. She was the daughter of John Smith and Kathleen (Wallace) Smith.
On July 1, 1988, Sheron was united in marriage to Everett E. “Big E” Evans in Paducah, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on February 6, 2011.
Survivors include: a son – Eugene C. Huston of Golconda; 2 stepchildren – Mike Evans of Vienna and Tara Hobbs of Salem; 10 grandchildren – Amanda, Wyatt, Lindsey, Destini, Paige, Trenton, Tanner, Shannon, Cody, and Madeline; several great grandchildren; her 5 brothers – Max Smith of Arizona, Glen Smith of Texas, Ray Smith of Texas, Eugene Smith of Tennessee, and Louis Smith of Tennessee; nieces, nephews other relatives and many dear friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sheron was preceded in death by: a son – William R. Haynes, a daughter – Dee Miles, a grandson – William Haynes II, 2 brothers – J.B., Sunny, Paul and Robert; a sister – Janice; a step brother – Carl and a step sister – Mary.
Sheron was a graduate of Bertrand, Missouri High School. She was the former owner and operator of “The Donut Shop” in Golconda. Also, for 12 years, Sheron was employed as the evening manager at the Kentucky Tobacco Outlet in Paducah. She also served as a representative for Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society.
Sheron enjoyed homemaking, gardening and reading romance novels. Sheron especially loved being “Granny” to her family and many friends.
A prayer service will be conducted Tuesday evening, November 22, 2016, at 7 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Brian Trambley will officiate.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 PM until the service time at 7 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
