Ronald Lynn Huckleberry, age 67 years, a resident of rural Vienna, passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning, October 22, 2016, at 6:30 AM at his home.
Ronald was born November 1, 1948 in Carbondale, Illinois. He was the son of Paul D. Huckleberry and V. Kathleen (Lane) Huckleberry.
Ronald was united in marriage to Brenda K. Smock on May 5, 1968 at the home of his parents in Vienna.
In addition to his wife, Ronald is survived by: his daughters – Angie Martin and Jenny Huckleberry; grandchildren – Nicole Jordon, Dylan Martin, and Shawn Martin; great-grandchildren – Gavin and Kinley Jordon, Pasiley Leveque, and Graycee Martin; a brother – Jerry (his wife, Judy) Huckleberry, a sister Susan (her husband, Clarence “Mack”) McPheron; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by a grandson, Trevor Martin.
Ronald was a 1967 graduate of Vienna High School. He was employed for several years as an engraver by J.W. Reynolds Monument Company. He later was employed as a correctional officer at the Shawnee Correctional Center near Vienna until his retirement in November 2002.
Ronald was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed rabbit hunting and spending time watching television. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 27, 2016, at 2 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Brother Fred Wilson and Brother Clement Wethington will officiate. Burial will be in the Vienna Fraternal Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 AM – 2 PM Thursday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
