Wade Drew Dishinger, 54, of Metropolis, formerly of Grand Chain, passed away at 10:23 a.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at his home.
Wade was born February 3, 1962 in Downey California. He was an active member in the Metropolis Garden Club and was an avid hunter and fisherman, and love to cook. Wade served in the United States Coast Guard from May 24, 1982 till March 28, 1986. Wade had also been an over-the-road commercial truck driver for several years.
He is survived by his parents, Eric and Shirley Casey Dishinger of Metropolis; one brother, Kirt Lee and Loretta Dishinger of Karnak; son, David Diehl of Pennsylvania; daughter, Michelle Nicole and Danial Ehrhorn of Kyle, Texas; thirteen nieces and nephews; three grandchildren, Hannah, Sandra and Analese Ehrhorn of Kyle, Texas.
Wade was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bill and Elayne Casey, his paternal grandparents, Ernest and Irene Wolder.
Memorial services for Wade Drew Dishinger will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2016 at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak. The family will receive friends Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home. Pastor Tammy Horn will be officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Mound City National Cemetery. Full military honors will be accorded by the United States Coast Guard Burial Detail Team and area veterans. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Association, 3725 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, Kentucky 41076. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
