David N. Deel, age 71 years, a resident of the Reevesville community, passed away Tuesday morning, February 23, 2016, at 1:29 a.m. at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky.
David was born October 31, 1944 in Kingsport, Tennessee. He was the fourth of six children born to Orba & Geneva (Huff) Deel.
On October 19, 1963, David was united in marriage to Dixie Troutt in Joliet, Illinois. She survives.
Other survivors include: their children – Tim Deel of the Reevesville community and Jennifer (Chris) Rowlett of Vienna; 3 grandchildren – Jacqueline Rigsby, Jessica Rigsby, and Alex Reed; 2 brothers – Donald Deel of Chicago and Jerry Deel of Kingsport, Tennessee; 2 sisters – Faith Olivo of Beebe, Arkansas and Karen Moore of Daytona Beach, Florida; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a son – Jeffrey David Deel and a brother – Lee Roy Deel.
David attended Shawnee Community College where he had earned an Associate Degree in Science with a specialty in heating and air conditioning repair. David was employed in the maintenance department for over 30 years by Norge, Inc. (Magic Chef, Maytag and Whirlpool) in Herrin.
David was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and yardwork. David was also a “shade-tree mechanic” and enjoyed working on cars and automotive restoration.
David was of the Christian faith. He dearly loved his church family at the Reevesville Community Church.
A memorial service honoring the life of David Deel will be conducted Saturday afternoon, February 27, 2016, at 3 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor Jake Ervin will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon – 3 p.m. Saturday at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
