Mike “Big Earl” Little – Obituary

Mike “Big Earl” Little, 72, of Karnak, passed away at 2:59 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2015 at the Metropolis Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with his family by his side.

Mike was born August 24, 1943 in Karnak.  He was a 1961 graduate of Karnak High School.  Mike and Trina Holshouser Little were united in marriage on December 21, 1962.  He was employed by Main Brothers Box and Lumber Company in Karnak, and later went to work for Honeywell where he retired following thirty years of service in the maintenance department.

Big Earl was an avid waterfowler and fisherman.  He loved being in a duck blind of yellow grass with his family and close friends calling in ducks as he did for so many years at the Old Pot Hole and several other water holes.

He is survived by his wife, Trina Little; two sons, Robert (Christy) Little of Vienna, Johnny Little of Karnak; one daughter, Deanna (Terry) Penrod of Belknap; granddaughter, Shianna (Justin) Russell of Cypress; grandsons, Mason and Maron Penrod of Belknap; granddaughter, Isabella Little of Karnak; grandson, Jacob Lane of Golconda; great grandson, Brantley Clifton Michael Russell of Cypress; baby granddaughter, “little girl on the way”, Braelyn Sharon Marie Russell.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Clifford and Evelyn Smiley Little; one brother, Gary Clifton Little and Momma Inda Goins.

Funeral services for Mike “Big Earl” Little will be at 11:00 am, Friday, December 18, 2015 at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak with Gene Morgan Speaking.  Burial will follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Cypress with a final tribute at the gravesite in Mike’s honor as Ryan Wilson calls in the last ducks.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 Thursday evening and Friday morning from 9:00 am until the funeral hour at the funeral home.

Pallbearers serving will be Robert and Johnny Little, Terry and Mason Penrod, Gene Morgan, Gary and Keith Wilson.
