Philip Edward Palmer, age 64 years, a resident of rural Stonefort (the Dykersburg community), passed away unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, November 11, 2015, at 4:35 PM at his home.
Philip was born April 18, 1951 in Peoria, Illinois. He was the son of James Leon and Erma (Kerley) Palmer.
Philip is survived by: his mother – Erma Palmer of Vienna; his children – Christie Frye of Meadville, Pennsylvania, Philip E. Palmer, Jr. and his wife Alica of Townsville, Pennsylvania, John Palmer, and his wife Laura & James Palmer all of Savanah, Georgia; his loving companion – Fonda Wallace of Shawneetown; 14 grandchildren; a brother – James Larry Palmer of Vienna; a sister – Anita Lynne Reynoso of Windsor, Colorado; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Philip was preceded in death by his father – James Leon Palmer; 2 sisters – Katherine Sue Palmer and Deborah Lou Murphy; and a brother – Bobby Glenn Palmer.
Philip was a truck driver. He had been employed for the past 14 years by the R.G. Berry Trucking Company.
Philip was a member of the Coal Bank Springs Baptist Church.
He enjoyed watching westerns. Philip also had a passion for restoring antique cars. He enjoyed music and dancing.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, November 15, 2015, at 2 PM at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Burial will be in the Gilead Cemetery near Simpson.
Visitation will be conducted Sunday from 11 AM – 2 PM at Bailey Funeral Home.
